I have experience designing and implementing a variety of gamification and simulation solutions: basic rewards that can be earned from a simple linear progression through a course; more engaging motivational carrots created by tracking responses throughout the course with variables; and sophisticated experiences utilizing if-then logic to create dynamic and engaging learning experiences.
This simulation was gamified, requiring learners to navigate their way through the software and make decisions about what kinds of emails to send their clients. They get more points when they make higher quality choices and across the top is a game bar where they can see reminders of their goals, their accomplishments, and what they need to do if they get stuck.
When learners complete the task, they get feedback based on the choices they made in the simulation. They can see how many points they received, what badges and ribbons they earned, and what advice they need in order to make better choices next time. Then they have the option to complete the task again and make better choices this time. Each time they complete the task, it is different to maximize their learning experience. To earn all of the points they must complete the task well three times.
In this eLearning course learners navigate through different situations they'd face with a specific set of guests.
